I have a router which I got from USA. As the power ranges differ from that in India , I need to get that working here. Can somebody tell how to get it working here. Specifically any adapter that I need to buy ?

check with power supply provided with router I think in US its about 110 volts in India its 220~240 volt
change voltage setting of router or buy adapter as per recommended on router label [who]

Several appliances bought in the US cannot be used in some partrs of the world. this is because of the voltage difference. The US uses 110v and all of Europe, India,Australia,New Zealand and All of Asia use 220v.Japan uses 110v. However some appliances have dual voltage which means you will be able to use them anywhere.
In your case, you will need a “voltage converter”. This will downgrade your power from 220v to 110v.I am sure most, if not all electrical appliances store will carry these. The voltage converter should be able to handle enough power to run your router. Check the back of the router for the watts eg. 65w or 30w. This should be written on the back if not, a 80w or 100w should be sufficient to handle it [who]
